Agenda 2: CHT Core 4.21.0 release updates.
CHT v4.21.0 was released on June 25, 2025. This release has the following features and technical improvements:
- Ability to expose users contact summary to forms, this will allow for displaying and hiding of forms depending on users context and data about the logged in user can be used in form calculations
- Priority task sorting
- Editing a contact if a user is within a task
- CouchDB has been upgraded to 3.5.0

2a) Task prioritization mechanism
CHWs supporting Jamii ni Afya program in Zanzibar and other community health programs face challenges of supporting numerous health program areas. This has made it difficult for some of the CHWs to prioritize critical tasks especially those who have a lot of tasks that are overdue. This sometimes results in some CHWs being overwhelmed, not knowing which tasks they should prioritize thus failing to complete some of the high priority tasks.
To help address this challenge, the CHT task prioritisation squad implemented a task prioritization mechanism which introduces a new way of sorting tasks in the UI based on the task priority scoring. This priority scoring uses task type and individual risk factors weights and the scoring is recalculated when a contact details change or a report is submitted against a contact. Tasks are now sorted using the logic below:
- Tasks with high priority scores appear at the top.
- When priority scores tie, tasks are sorted by due date.
- Tasks without priority scores appear last and are sorted by due dates.
