Tasks help health care providers to plan their work by prompting them to complete follow up visits and other activities. Currently, tasks are listed in the order of due date, tasks that are past due will appear at the top. Community members have shared feedback that it is difficult for CHWs to prioritize important tasks especially for CHWs that have a lot of tasks that are due, this has sometimes resulted in a few CHWs failing to complete some of the high priority tasks.
To help address this challenge, many community members have suggested that the task list needs some improvements to make it more intuitive to guide CHWs to quickly identify critical tasks. We are therefore proposing the formation of a squad to collaborate in building a solution.
What is a community squad?
The CHT is a strong, inclusive and growing community of members all solving similar problems in their own way. This growing community presents a great opportunity to increase innovation and efficiency by forming squads of community members to collaborate on development of specific initiatives. The CHT community squad model started in October 2024 and so far four squads have been formed to work on specific features and improvements. Members could collaborate by helping design the solution, writing the code, testing, or by funding some aspect of the development. These will be designed as short term agile teams to get the feature developed and released as quickly as possible.
