According to the CHT docs, the minimum and recommended specifications for the client Android devices to run the CHT app are as given below:
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Android version | 5.0 | 9.0+ |
| Processor | 1.0GHz dual-core | 2.0GHz quad-core |
| RAM | 1GB | 2GB |
| Storage | 8GB | 16GB |
Are these recommendations up to date and based on real-world experiences?
Considering how much resources CHT app might have to share with the Android OS and other commonly used apps, I find the recommended specifications to be on the lower side.
Although we might want to keep the minimum requirements low to support as many devices as possible, shall we increase the recommended specs? It’s not good to recommend devices that perform poorly and that cannot be upgraded.
