May 2026 Round-up highlights and recording

Thank you for your participation and active engagement during the May Round-Up.

We are grateful for the continued collaboration, knowledge sharing and contributions that make the CHT community stronger. Below is a recap of the session key discussions:

Agenda 1: Powering community health through partnerships and interoperability of digital public goods: Ivory Coast MOH Implementation
Deploying and sustaining a national community health information system takes more than technology, it requires strong partnerships, shared ownership and a commitment to long-term scale.

Since 2023, MUSO, Medic and Save the Children, with support from the Global Fund, have partnered with the Ivorian Ministry of Health to design, build and scale SanteComCIV digital health system; a national community health platform powered by the CHT.

Today, the platform supports a broad range of community health programs, including child health, reproductive maternal and newborn health, health promotion activities, stock management and supervision. The solution has been deployed across the country, supporting more than 8,400 users in 53 districts.

During the May Round-Up, @Hiell demonstrated how the platform supports end-to-end community supply chain management. CHWs can update stock levels, dispense commodities and submit resupply requests directly from the app. These requests automatically trigger tasks for Stock Managers, who are equipped with additional workflows to investigate stock discrepancies, manage approvals and confirm returns creating greater visibility and accountability across the supply chain.

The Project team also showcased how they are leveraging the OpenFn adaptor to seamlessly integrate the app with DHIS2. Using OpenFn, aggregated data is extracted from PostgreSQL, transformed and mapped to DHIS2 data models. The advantages of using OpenFn include reduced custom integration development and maintenance effort, flexible data transformation and mapping between two systems and reusable, configurable interoperability workflows.

SanteComCIV implementation is a clear demonstration of how open-source digital public goods, combined with strong country leadership and ecosystem partnerships, can strengthen community health systems at scale.

Agenda 2: CHT Product Updates
1. Collapsible Contact Summary Cards
The contact summary cards in CHT are currently fully expanded, this often requires users to scroll extensively for them to access the information they need; especially for contacts with multiple contact summary cards. The new collapsible contact summary card functionality has been built which improves how contact summary card information is displayed.

A huge congratulations to @Megha (one of our newest CHT contributors), for leading this effort. This is a meaningful improvement that will help CHT users to access critical information more quickly and improve the overall user experience.

2. CHT v5.1.1 and v5.1.2 Patch Releases :rocket:
The latest patch releases, v5.1.1 and v5.1.2, are now available and they have the following important bug fixes:

  • The layout issue affecting tasks opened in desktop view has been fixed.
  • The duplicate SMS bug has been fixed.
  • The user contact summary recalculation defect is now resolved.

We encourage project teams to review the release notes and plan their upgrades accordingly.
We are grateful to @diana, @elijah, @yuv, @paulalogno and Harshit for their contributions in building these fixes.

Special thanks to @Hiell, @paulalogno, @Loukman, @Megha and @jkuester for their excellent workflow demos and presentations. You can watch the Round-up highlights here. :folded_hands:
