June 2026 Round-up highlights and recordings

Thank you to everyone who joined the June Round-up :folded_hands:. Your energy, questions and contributions made it a truly enriching session.

Missed it or want to revisit - you can catch the full recording here.

Here’s a summary of the highlights:
Agenda 1 — eCHIS Kenya<>TaifaCare HMIS Interoperability workflows.
We kicked off with a live showcase of interoperability workflows between eCHIS Kenya and TaifaCare HMIS; a powerful demonstration of what becomes possible when digital health systems work together seamlessly. See the presentation to see the workflows in action.

Agenda 2 — UI Extensions.
This is a big one! UI Extensions built by community contributors  will be shipped in the upcoming 5.2.0 release. This feature allows you to add a custom page to the CHT app interface, either as a main tab or accessible via the hamburger menu, with full access to the CHT API data source, meaning it works both online and offline.

We were treated to two brilliant use case demos during the event:
• The first presentation showed how UI Extensions can be used to add a Help tab, giving CHWs direct access to training materials, FAQs and support resources right within the app.
• A second demo showcased how UI Extensions enable custom visualizations within CHT, including the ability to reorder default tabs and configure data flows between contacts and reports.

The UI Extension MVP supports access to CHT server data but does not yet allow data to be pulled in from external systems. As the community continues to test and iterate this new functionality, there’s an exciting conversation ahead around editing the content security policy to support trusted external URLs, watch this space!

:rocket: Agenda 3 - CHT v5.1.3 release update.
CHT v5.1.3 was released on June 5, delivering a fix for Nouveau search queries that were failing when indexing large strings. This update requires Nouveau indexes to reindex, so partners should plan for reindexing time when upgrading. Read the release notes for more details.

A huge shoutout to our incredible facilitators and presenters: @diana, @mrjones, @jkuester, @Fred, @irene, @alexkombo and Joseph Murathe (AfyaReach); thank you for making this session so engaging and insightful!

We hope to see you all at the next Round-up on July 9, 2026. Stay tuned for the agenda!
