How to Join a CHT Squad

Hello CHT Community,

This is a summary of how you and/or your organization can get involved in the CHT squad model, which is a core part of how our community collaborates on building and improving the CHT. The process is designed to be open and community-driven.

How Do Squads Form and How Can I Join?

The journey to joining a squad starts with an idea and a conversation on the same. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Topic is Posted: A community member or organization posts a topic on the CHT Forum. This could be either:
    • A formal proposal to form a squad around a specific goal.

    • Simply a topic of interest that sparks discussion.

  2. Express Interest: Other community members and organizations read the post and engage with it. If you are interested in the topic, you should reply to the forum post to express your interest, share your ideas, and indicate your potential availability.
  3. Squad Formation: If there is enough collective interest and commitment, the normal squad formation process begins. This involves defining the squad’s objective, goals, and timeline. The original proposer often becomes the initial facilitator. From there, interested parties officially become squad members and begin the collaborative work.

For more information and details, such as key requirements to start a squad and the different stages within a squad, you can refer to the CHT Squads documentation.

Key Resources for the Community:

To stay informed and get involved, please use these essential resources:

  • CHT Community Calendar: Want to know what’s happening right now? Join the weekly squad calls to listen in, meet potential collaborators, and see the progress. All meeting times and links are on the CHT Community Calendar.

  • CHT Roadmap: To see the active squads, their objectives, and what phase they are in, please visit the CHT Roadmap. This page is the central hub for tracking the progress of all the squads.

Getting involved is as simple as joining a forum discussion and showing up to a call. We encourage everyone interested in contributing to the CHT’s future to explore these resources and find a squad that aligns with your interests.
