Does being a Primary Contact affect how a user experiences the CHT?

What other functionality is based off of the “Primary Contact” association? I know it is used for some SMS functionality like reminders, but wondering what other core features of the CHT use the Primary Contact. For example… would an app user associated to a primary contact experience the CHT any differently than an app user with the same roles and parent but a contact who isn’t “Primary”?

I don’t think this directly answers your question, but here’s some related info: When Bulk Upload was released, we got feedback that primary contact wasn’t being set. In a later release this was fixed.

• a script was authored to set the primary contact (aka default contact)
• in 4.2 we released the feature to enable supervisors to create contacts which also set the primary contact.

Unfortunately, it does not seem like primary contact has any effect on the ordering.
