I do like the edit history diff. That is nice. However, yeah, it seems like you still only have one big thread down below… 
So, seems mostly like a normal post except other users can edit it.

Interesting, you can also make replys be “wiki”…

True - but this feels like a cross between inline comments and media wikis “talk” section of a page.
I think it might be workable!
