The CHT prioritises and supports community health workers (CHWs) in the delivery of equitable, timely, and quality door-step care first, with data being a by-product. Together, we are shaping the narrative of an empowered and professionalised CHW who not only delivers services, but does so using data summarized in the targets tab.
The analytics/target tab enables both CHWs and supervisors to track individual progress. Supervisors can also use the aggregate target functionality to view the overall individual performance of the CHWs they oversee. In most community health programs, monthly meetings are held between the 5th and 15th of each month, with the previous month’s data review as one of the agenda. However, at the end of each month, all indicators are reset to zero, preventing retrospective performance tracking.
The release of CHT v4.10.0 only focused on the CHW supervisors, giving them the ability to view aggregate CHW performance targets for the previous month; enabling them to verify CHWs’ previous month performance metrics. While this feature has been helpful for supervisors, CHWs currently cannot view the in-app performance data for the previous month.
Several CHT deployments have expressed interest in enabling CHWs to view the previous month’s in-app performance. This improvement will strengthen the CHW performance tracking process and help to streamline the CHW payment processes. Recently, a request was made for the community to prioritize building this feature. Given that there is a real need for this enhancement, the community would like to form a community squad to respond to this need. Community members who are interested in contributing to this squad can get involved in various ways, including co-designing the solution, writing code, testing, and creating technical documentation.
