It is possible to create place by selecting a person that belongs to another place, but the person in the newly created place cannot be assigned to a user.
Is there any work around to do not allow the selection of a person in a new or another place if the person already belong to a place ?
Can one person belong to multiple places in different hierarchy and be assigned to user with a role?
Hi @ErnestO, and thanks for the question!
When you say “create a place by selecting a person that belongs to another place”, do you mean that you are editing a person then assigning them to a newly created place, similar to this screenshot?
What form are you in when you create the new place? If you can provide the form or a screenshot that will help to better understand your situation.
Hi @marc , what I mean is that there is possibility to select a person that belongs to a place while creating a new place which ends up in a conflict at the time of assigning the person to a user for the newly created place.
See below screenshots.
Thanks for clarifying. The restriction is that a user’s associated contact must be within the user’s place, meaning that a user cannot access data from a different area.
So in reference to your original question, can one person belong to multiple places in different hierarchy and be assigned to user with a role? The answer is yes, but only if their place is the one in which that person belongs. In this scenario the user would only be able to access contacts and reports within their place, and not the ones for which they are the primary contact.
Being a primary contact doesn’t help to give access to other areas, and is primarily used to know who should receive SMS notifications for the people in that place.
It would be great to hear more about the scenario you have in mind, and why the person needs access to an area to which they don’t belong. If there aren’t any good ways to handle the scenario it may help us design for that in the future.
