BRAC Uganda project: A community story presented in November CHT Round-up call

The BRAC Uganda community health program team working in collaboration with the Uganda Ministry of Health (MOH) is implementing a community-based health program in 72 districts in Uganda, the program aims to improve the health status of the population with special focus on pregnant women and under five children. Through the program over 4,000 community health workers (CHWs) and supervisors have been empowered with the BRAC Afya app mobile app, the app supports the health care workers to deliver integrated preventive, curative and promotional community based care services.

In our November 2022 Round-up call, the BRAC Uganda program team presented a community story on their experience, challenges and lessons learned from deploying BRAC Afya app to support delivery of community health care services in Uganda. Thank you Emmanuel Ocibo (ocibo.emmanuel@brac.net) for the great presentation and for sharing in-depth insights about how the BRAC community health program has helped to improve maternal child health outcomes, disease surveillance and increase the uptake of family planning services.
