discussion of recent post about the cold storage feature and the bulk delete contact coming up in 5.3
- follow up discussion if we should soft or hard delete in bulk delete contact
- current thoughts are to go with soft deletes - if we don’t, someone will delete waay to much by accident and want a revert option
- @elijah was wondering if deleted documents might have a UI element to denote they were deleted. This will be next phase work b/c current effort is just API level work with no UI changes

touch on 5.3 milestone - desire for it be shipped this week - looks unlikely
- optimizing indexes has too many outstanding efforts to be done. there’s external contributors which means things
- cold storage will likely merge this week, but small risk it wont
- discussion about how it would be handy if cold storage shipped in 5.3 and then re-indexes from the TCO optimizatoins would come in 5.4. This would empower deployments to archive a bunch of data in 5.3 via cold storage before upgrading to 5.4 with a bunch of re-indexing. Ultimately decided against this - will keep 5.3 as is with both index changes and cold storage.

touch on distributed Nouveau improvement
- shouldn’t be too big of an imposition storage wise, so not a big increase of TCO for storage
- any 5.x multi-node deployments might need to delete the one original to save a bit of space,
- @twier to take the lead and figure what’s best for multi-node 5.x deployments
